Chapters 18 through 49 of Dark[er] Days of Dorothy Gale are a reimagining of the first portion of Dante's Divine Comedy, The Inferno. Each Aftermath episode of the podcast for these chapters includes an in-depth summary of each canto. Each one involves a lot of research, pulling from various sources and translations of the epic poem.
I admit, I'm no scholar. In fact, I'm probably the furthest thing from a scholar you can get. I might get some things wrong here and there, and I almost assuredly mispronounce every name found in the Inferno. All that aside, it doesn't mean I don't at least try. If you catch an error let me know and I'll try to fix it.
If you're wondering where I get my information, here is a list of some of my favorite resources.

The World of Dante - Microsoft Edge gives me the "Not Secure" label in the address bar of the browser, but this site offers a plethora of information. Always proceed with caution when you visit a "Not Secure" site.
.
Divine Comedy-I: Inferno Study Guide | GradeSaver - Very similar to Spark Notes and Cliffs Notes. Grade Saver offers a lot of the same information and has proven to be a great source with nice page design.

The Dante's History podcast has proven to be one of the greatest resources out there. It's in depth, it's informative, and it's easy to fit into your busy schedule with it's short episodes... It's also incomplete. As I write this, the show ends with Canto 28 of 34 (Sowers of Discord). That particular episode dropped September 16, 2025... So it's been a while. What IS there, is well worth your time though.
